Aqualyx® Fat Reduction System is a safe, effective fat dissolving injection treatment that reduces fat cells in the treated area. With just a few simple injections, we can help to reduce and break down fat pockets. The procedure produces permanent results, which means you can target those annoying stubborn areas.
Aqualyx® can be used to treat small, exercise-resistant, pockets of fat around the chin, underarms, thighs and abdomen. It is very effective for body contouring, however is not a treatment for weight loss. Results can be seen within as little as 6 weeks.

"What is Aqualyx® Fat Reduction System?"
Aqualyx® is a clinically proven gel-based solution, derived from cholanic acid, which when injected will dissolve and help to break down fats.

"How does it work?"
Aqualyx® dissolves the membranes of fat cells in the treated area. The fat cells become unstable and break open. The fatty acids contained within the cell are then eliminated by macrophages (part of the body’s immune system) and the liver.

"Is there any downtime or side effects?"
Immediately after treatment, you may appear red and swollen with some bruising on the treated area. Aqualyx® works by causing an inflammatory reaction in the fat cells which can result in obvious swelling for 3-5 days, therefore you may wish to organize time away from work or social engagements.
You can help to reduce the swelling by using a cool pack (ice) wrapped in a clean sterile cloth for a maximum of 20 minutes each day. You cannot use anti-inflammatory tablets for 48 hours after treatment as this will work against the treatment. The treated area may feel tender and firm for up to 8 weeks post-treatment.

"When will I start to see results?"
Results can be seen within as little as 6 weeks, however in some cases, it can take up to 3 months, so do plan ahead for this treatment.

"How many sessions will I need?"
This is solely dependant on you as a client, and the type and stubbornness of either the visceral (abdomen) or submental (under chin) fat you are carrying. We will however guide you into a realistic treatment plan should you be eligible for this procedure.
An average we generally see in the clinic is 1-2 sessions for the chin area and bra strap fat, and 2-4 sessions for the abdominal and thighs. An indication of successful treatments, for every 10 clients that our clinic has seen, 2 have required a second session in the area to target stubborn deposits, as again results do solely depend on you.

"Are the results permanent?"
With Aqualyx® the results are permanent! Whilst the body can regenerate fat cells – the process is very slow. So once fat cells are removed from a localized area your results are as good as permanent regardless of a persons weight gain, however, if you do not continue to maintain a healthy lifestyle post-procedure this can mean that fat cells could increase in other areas of the body and store, but we as a clinic have never had this side effect reported to us.
Please note, if you have significant weight to lose then Aqualyx® is not suitable for you, but other body contouring treatments we offer maybe. If you have recently lost significant weight then the area concerning you may be loose skin which we can improve with skin tightening treatments.

"How can I prepare for this treatment?"
By eating a healthy balanced diet prior to treatment, remember this is not a weight-loss tool. You will want to make sure you have ample time on the day of treatment, by not planning anything else around your appointment. We will ask you to leave wearing a compression garment to help with the swelling, so you may want to bring a scarf or hat, should you be using public transport.
"Can I have fillers on the same day?"
You cannot receive fillers in the treated area on the same day as Aqualyx®, ie Aqualyx® for jawline contouring and jawline enhancement using fillers, however, you can have fillers in other areas of the face during the same appointment, on that day, i.e, cheek area and chin.
DESO Face & Body are state-of-the-art fat-dissolving injectable products used to treat small pockets of fat. Areas that can be treated include, the arms, ‘double’ chin, abdomen, flanks, buttocks, thighs, back/bra ‘rolls’… Depending on the area treated and the amount of fat involved, several sessions may be required to achieve the desired result. When treating the body fat is reduced and skin firmness is improved. When treating the face, drainage of excess fluids takes place as well as reduced-fat amounts.

It is a non-surgical treatment that does not require as much recovery time as
surgical alternatives. You will get some swelling which will only last 48 hours – a
week.
The treatment is permanent! Once a fat cell has been destroyed, it has been
permanently removed from your body. And this cannot be undone. However,
an important thing to note is that if there are other fat cells in the area, that have not been targeted by the injection, these can become larger, if you were to gain weight or miss out on a healthy diet and exercise combination.
